Terms of service

Last updated: [add date at launch]

1. What JobYard is

JobYard is a tool that lets you create quotes and invoices, track jobs, and manage a simple schedule for your own trade business. You are responsible for the accuracy of the quotes, invoices, and VAT treatment you create using JobYard. JobYard is a quoting and record keeping convenience, not tax, legal, or accounting advice.

2. Your account

You need an account to use JobYard. Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

3. Your data

You own the customer, job, quote, and invoice data you enter into JobYard. We store it so the service works, and so your customers can view quotes and invoices you send them. See the privacy policy for how it is stored and used.

4. Public quote and invoice links

When you send a quote or invoice link to a customer, anyone with that link can view it. Only share the link with the customer it is intended for.

5. Subscription and billing

JobYard is billed on a recurring basis at the price shown at signup. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling stops future billing. [Add specific refund policy before launch.]

6. Acceptable use

Do not use JobYard to send unlawful, misleading, or harassing content to customers, or to store data you do not have the right to store.

7. Availability

We aim to keep JobYard available and working correctly, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, data loss, or errors in a quote or invoice you created.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of JobYard after an update means you accept the new terms.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to [add contact email at launch].

This is a starting template, not a finished legal document. Have it reviewed by a solicitor before relying on it, particularly the billing and liability sections.
